When Work Works Alfred P. Sloan Award
Why Apply?
There are many benefits for employers that apply for the Sloan Awards.
- All applicants benefit from the technical assistance on creating an effective and flexible workplace
- All applicants receive customized benchmarking reports comparing their organization with nationally representative data, local organizations and Sloan Award Winners - a blueprint for action
- Winners receive local and national recognition, including a tribute in a local awards ceremony in June 2008 and a full-page ad in USA Today!
How Do I Apply?
Applications are being accepted online at www.whenworkworks.org from Jan. 2, 2008, through April 2008. Winners will be announced in late Spring 2008 at a local awards presentation ceremony and will receive local, state and national recognition.
Is My Organization Eligible?
Organizations of all types and sizes can apply. To be eligible, employers must have:
- Employers must have a worksite - defined as a local presence or hub of operations - located in the Greater Rochester Area and is a Rochester Chamber Member.
- Ten or more employees must currently work from or report to the eligible worksite. Contract workers and consultants do not count toward this minimum requirement.
- Been in operation for at least one year
Application Process
The application process will take place in two rounds:
Round 1: Employer Survey
Employers nominate themselves by completing an online application survey about their workplace flexibility programs, policies and culture. Surveys are available at www.whenworkworks.org.
Round 2: Employee Survey
For qualifying employers from Round 1, a sample of employees will be asked to complete a survey about their access to workplace flexibility programs and about the culture.
